Kenneth Moton is an esteemed, award-winning Washington, D.C.-based journalist with nearly 20 years of broadcast experience at the local and national levels. Kenneth is currently an evening local news anchor and a former network news anchor/national correspondent. 

Kenneth is also a media consultant who has worked with clients across several industries and uses his expertise to educate companies on all things related to news media. 

In recent years, Kenneth has become a sought-after public speaker on the state of journalism, media ethics and the importance of diversity in media. Mentoring young and aspiring journalists is also extremely important to Kenneth who believes in the importance of educating the next generation of storytellers. 

Kenneth’s passion has always been journalism - telling stories and reporting information to communities across the country. His enthusiasm for the job and respect for people is evident in his reporting.

During his time at ABC News, Kenneth was the co-anchor for #1 early morning news programs, World News Now and America This Morning. He also reported for dozens of affiliates and top-rated programs Good Morning America and World News Tonight

While based in D.C., Kenneth jumped into covering national politics with regular assignments at the White House and on Capitol Hill. He covered a number of big stories including the 2015 Mother Emanuel AME Church massacre in Charleston, SC, the 2016 presidential campaign and election, natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey, the Las Vegas shooting massacre, the Haitian migrant crisis in Del Rio, TX and the January 6th riots at the Capitol. 

Kenneth’s duties also took him outside the U.S. covering the 2020 (2021) Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the Canadian trucker convoy protest in Ottawa.

Before Kenneth made his move to national, he spent more than a decade enterprising and breaking local news in Philadelphia, Orlando, Raleigh, NC and Columbia, SC. These markets are where Kenneth learned the importance of cultivating sources, storytelling and community involvement.

Kenneth who lives in Maryland is a South Carolina native and a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina.
